Poor Otis struggled through three full days of diarrhea and started his fourth this morning, so I drove him to the emergency vet in Boise. It was an uneventful trip, though thunderstorms began rolling in during the return drive.

The vet prescribed antibiotics and an antiparasitic. [Note: Otis fully recovered in three days.]
