Today I loaded up the bike for an afternoon ride to Mt. Baker and an overnight stay. I chose Lake Takhlakh, but when I arrived at about 5pm, there were no more camp sites. It’s a beautiful lake with Mt. Baker reflecting on the surface. I picked nearby Council Lake as a backup. This primitive campsite has no water or facilities of any kind, but there was no fee. Turns out it gets COLD up here in late August, so I was chilled to the bone in my tent.

The clouds never quite cooperated on this visit. I had hoped to get some starlight photos, or even a nice sunset shot of the mountain, but by sunset, fog shrouded the entire area.
