Because much of September will be spend in the desert and off-road, I need to make some changes to make the bike safer off the pavement, including:

• Replacing the front and rear tires with more aggressive Heidenau K60 Scout Tires
• Subtracting one tooth (from 15 to 14) from the front sprocket to gear the bike down for slower speeds; this bike lugs a bit too much in first gear for my taste off road
• Replacing the chain with one of newly-appropriate length and nice orange color
