After we passed through Sanguitch, we were stunned to be greeted by the Red Canyon, and paused to take a couple of pictures. The one above was snapped by Ben (good job!). Highway 12 must contain the most scenic few miles of road just about anywhere in the country. A billboard (these are really big in Utah, for some reason… I’m blown away by how a place with some of the most beautiful scenery is continually marred by enormous billboards advertising everything from roadside attractions to the End of the World) warned me that it would be scenic, but I was still flabbergasted. These must be the bluffs after which Disney modeled Thunder Mountain Railroad.
