I’ve just finished the last work day before my second sabbatical from Intel.
The plan? Kick off a month-long Great American Gas-Guzzling Trailer-Towing Adventure in the Desert. It has been a longtime dream of mine to spend weeks on the road with my trailer, seeing sights, taking pictures, relaxing, and enjoying the desert heat. I’ve mapped out a route, made reservations at RV parks and campgrounds, and gotten much of the gear aboard. The boys are ready to go too, and have been looking forward to the trip for months. Regrettably, Symantec does not offer Shelli the opportunity to take off eight weeks paid, so John, Ben, and I will have say farewell for the month, survive without her, and give her some much-needed time away from the additional mouths to feed and needs to attend.
But at least for the first few days, we’ll be together as a whole family. That’s because our first stop will be at Capitol Farms RV Resort in Salem for our annual Independence Day get-together with our friends the RV Fools.
The boys are loaded and ready to go for the first leg of our July 2011 journey.
I love that he has his hat – gotta look good while camping! 🙂
